Good for
- skirt
- dress
- top
- structured shapes
- first projects
Not for
- slinky flowing designs
Common mistakes
- Skipping preshrink — cotton shrinks in the first wash
- Expecting drape from a crisp fabric: an A-line will stand away from the body, not flow
Shapes it suits
- Fabric for structured, fitted shapes: a medium, crisp woven that holds its shape.
- Fabric for collars, plackets and tailoring: a crisp, medium woven that presses sharp.
