Pink bow keyhole mini: real bust darts, and the keyhole kept at the neckline

A short-sleeved pink mini with bust darts and a bow at a bound keyhole neckline.

Before: front and back drawing of the pink bow keyhole mini, with no side bust darts. Now: the same drawing with a side bust dart on each side.
Before: no side bust darts. Now: a dart at each side of the bust, as the pattern is sewn.

What was wrong

The photo shows darts at the side of the bust, but the earlier pattern left them out, so the dress would have sat flat across the chest. Adding the darts exposed a shared engine error: the keyhole opening and the bow moved away from their neckline attachment.

What changed

The bust darts now shape the real pattern pieces and appear in the drawing. The engine keeps centre-front attachments on their fixed axis and keeps the sewn sleeve length when it trues the darted side seam; openings that cross each other are still rejected. The drawing and the pattern come from the same resolved construction.

Five-piece EU36 pattern, including real side bust darts, the keyhole binding and bow strips.
Cutting pattern, size EU36: five pieces, with the side bust darts, the keyhole binding and the bow strips.

Result

Real bust darts, a bound neckline and explicit sleeve and skirt hem instructions. The drawing, the pattern and the four PDFs were checked together, in other body sizes too, with a separate digital review.

11 October: the zip length

The cutting layout now asks for the sewing guide's 60 cm zip, at least 600 mm long; it said at least 580 mm. In the sewing guide one zip sentence was reworded; the instruction is the same.

Still open

The back, which the photo does not show, and the choice of fabric are construction assumptions.
