Every PDF carries the dress name, and the A4 note names the corner mark

On 18 October the four PDFs of all five free patterns were rebuilt: the A4 and A0 pattern, the sewing guide and the cutting layout of each dress. These are the changes a sewer will see.

Sheets 1A and 1B of the red gingham button-front mini A4 pattern side by side: the front centre and front side pieces cut across both sheets, with a cross inside a circle at each sheet corner.
Sheets 1A and 1B, two pages of the red gingham mini's A4 pattern: a cross in a circle at every shared corner.

The dress names on the PDFs

Each PDF now carries the dress's name as it appears on this site. Before, the titles were the draft names of the pattern files:

  • Pink bow keyhole mini: Bow Cap-Sleeve Mini Dress
  • Red gingham button-front mini: Gingham Button-Front Mini Dress
  • Navy gingham off-centre button mini: Gingham Button-Front Cap-Sleeve Mini Dress
  • both wrap minis: Draped Mini Dress

The corner mark in the A4 note

The assembly note on page 1 of each A4 pattern spoke of black corner squares that complete into whole squares. The sheets carry a cross inside a 9 mm circle at each shared corner, and the note and the sewing guide now name that mark: lay each sheet over its neighbour so the crosses sit exactly on top of each other and the edge ticks meet. How to print and tape the sheets.

The red gingham mini's sheet map

Its 20 A4 sheets are now laid out 2 across and 10 down (before: 5 across, 4 down). Page 2 of the file shows the map.

The sewing guides

Each guide has a new section, Derived, not seen, that says how the back, which no photo shows, was drawn. The line on the hem now says its position was read from the photograph, not measured.

The cutting layouts

Both wrap minis now ask for a zip at least 600 mm long (before: 650 mm). A few tape and interfacing lengths moved by 1 to 7 mm, for example the red gingham mini's neck tape from 438 to 445 mm.
